BRADSHAW _ Mary Ellen, West Vancouver, BC, Canada. Mary Ellen (nee Dorman) Bradshaw, 65, died early Monday, April 19, 2004 at her home in West Vancouver after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Mary Ellen passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side. Mary Ellen spent a happy childhood between family homes in South Burnaby and Bowen Island. After graduating a gold medallist RN from St Paul's Hospital, Mary Ellen married Peter Lawrence Bradshaw and became a loving wife and mother of three. Mary Ellen is survived by her mother, Ellen Dorman of Bowen Island, BC; her brother, Jimmy Dorman of Bowen Island, BC; her husband Peter; her children, Julie Bradshaw Cvetkovic of Santorini, Greece, Christopher Bradshaw of La Quinta, California and Timothy Bradshaw of Bowen Island, BC; one grandchild, Jack Percy Lawrence Bradshaw, and several loving cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. To the cancer "survivors" and the hope they gave Mary Ellen. To Dr. Paul Klimo and his staff and volunteers at Lions Gate Hospital Cancer Unit who never gave up on Mary Ellen. To Dr. Anita Early whose diagnosis and commitment to her patient got Mary Ellen the prompt and focused attention needed. Mary Ellen's friends and family say thank you. A writer, a tai chi enthusiast, a wife, a mother, a friend, Mary Ellen will be missed by her family and friends who will gather at the Vancouver Club, 915 West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC at 2:00 PM Saturday April 24, 2004 to celebrate her life. In recognition of the ongoing role the Lions Gate cancer clinic plays, the family request that in lieu of flowers, friends and family donate to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation: contact Kristy Gill 604-984-3864.
