Mary Caputo (Henehan) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2025.
Mary Christina Caputo (Henehan), 66, was born December 24, 1958 and grew up in Oak Lawn, IL. Mary was a beloved daughter of the late Bridget and Michael Henehan. She will be deeply mourned by her siblings: Thomas Henehan (Clarissa), Anne (John) Hardek, and Noreen (Fernando) Carballo. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael Henehan Jr. and David Henehan. Her warmth and kindness extended to each of her children, Christina (Dean) Schmaedeke, James (Kristina) Dawson, Michael (Katherine) Dawson, Danielle (Jacob) Schultz, Chanel (Ryan) Paulish, Shannon (Kegan) Flairty, and Charles Caputo, all of whom she raised with unwavering love and devotion.

Mary dedicated her life to her family, finding immense fulfillment in her role as a homemaker. She often insisted she wasn't a great cook, but her children will fondly remember her meals with a different perspective-a testament to the love she poured into everything she did. The arrival of her grandchildren brought immeasurable joy. Becoming "Nana" to Bridget, Connor, Audrey, Brooke, Samantha, Thomas, Patrick, Zachary, Blake, Kennedy, Victoria, and Lindsay filled her heart with an even deeper love. The bond she shared with each of them was truly special.

Mary's final years were spent in Florida, a place she always dreamed of. There, she basked in the warmth of the sunshine, and enjoyed live music. Through her unwavering faith, she found comfort in knowing that when she was called Home to God, she would be reunited with her loved ones.

To honor Mary's life and the beautiful person she was, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life service on October 4th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Public Landing in Lockport, Illinois (200 W Eighth St, Lockport, IL 60441). It would mean the world to us if you could share your memories and stories. Let us come together to celebrate her life and the love she shared with all of us.
