Mary Beth CASSIO

CASSIO - Mary Beth (Kelly) of South Plainfield, NJ, died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, NY after a lengthy battle with Liver disease. She was 40 years old. MaryBeth was born in Queens, NY and grew up in Floral Park, NY. She attended Marist College where she met her loving husband Thomas and in 1994 she graduated with a bachelors degree. Following college, MaryBeth settled to South Plainfield where she resided for nearly 20 years. Soon after college and her marriage, MaryBeth was diagnosed with liver disease and the battle began. In 1997 MaryBeth underwent her first liver transplant and unfortunately in 2004 required a second one. She was fighter since day one until finally succumbing to the disease and additional illnesses early Saturday morning. She worked for Central Jersey Orthopedic in South Plainfield for some time prior being blessed with the opportunity to raise her family. MaryBeth s predeceased by her father Michael who died in 2011. She is survived by her loving and caring husband Thomas, her two joys of her life; Matthew and Danny, her mother Mary Kelly, two sisters; Cathy Kelly of Boston, MA. and Theresa Kelly of NY, two brothers; Michael Kelly and his wife Kristin of Greenwhich, CT. and Brian Kelly and his wife Helen of Floral Pk., NY, her mother and father in-law; Jeanie and Tom Cassio, and three brothers in-law; Garrett and Darlene Cassio, Greg and Jennifer Cassio and Chris Cassio and his fiancŽ Natia. Also surviving are 12 nieces and nephews and countless family and friends. Her courage, strength and selfless kindness towards others will be sadly missed. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:45am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com followed by an 11:30am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plinfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 1-4pm & 6-9pm at the funeral home.
