Corcoran & McFarren families,
I apologize for being so late, as you know I was just informed of your great loss. We wish to send our deepest condolences to all of you. Mary Helen was like a second Mom to me as I was always at your home growing up. Diana knew her primarily from the bank, but remembers her very well, as I'm sure everyone will. She always had the time to help, talk, console and care in such a genuine way just saying "Hello" made you feel good. She will be dearly missed.

Wife. Mother. Grandmother. Sister. Aunt. Niece. Cousin. Neighbor. Co-worker. Sponsor. Friend.
These are the words we use to describe who my mother was to everyone in her life.
She was a fighter.
She fought against illness and won many of those battles. This last one though, proved to be too much, even for her.
She showed her family the way to get through life. She had a quiet way of providing guidance and strength.
Like many of the women in her family she showed unconditional love. No matter what my siblings and I did she was there to help us and show us love and support. She may not have agreed with us but she was there for us. She did not judge us or dwell on whatever the circumstance was. She taught us to move on and avoid the same actions or behavior and to learn from the experience.
I spoke to many people over these last few days and heard different stories.
I learned that she had this same approach in her other relationships. She provided the same love and support to all who came in contact with her.
My Sisters and my Brother gave her 11 grandchildren. She loved them all dearly and they loved her. I see so many of her traits in them. Her quiet resolve, her sense of humor, her fighting spirit and her caring nature. She lives on in all of them.
She has prepared us all well to get along in life without her. By her example we all have a blueprint for life to help us along the way, to overcome our fears and celebrate our achievements.
She showed us all how to deal with our failures. She taught us how to battle our illnesses.
She taught us to be humble and to accept whatever came our way and gave us the will to overcome obstacles along the way.
She taught us how to love and be loved.
She is now with God and all those that went before her.
She will be there to guide us all through life. All we need to do is close our eyes and talk to her. She will listen, as she always did. She will be there for support.

I am deeply sorry for your loss and deeply saddened to have to 'let go' of a friend like Mary so soon. She was truly a cut above the rest. The memories she made with all of you here on earth will remain in your hearts forever. Although we shared a mutual group of friends, she never failed to talk about her family.
