Mary Crow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 23, 2025.
Mary Shreves Crow, 69, of Huntersville, NC, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025.

She was born on November 7, 1955, to the late Donald Paul Shreves and Stella Zannino Shreves in Clarksburg, WV.

After a foundation year at Columbus College of Art and Design, she earned her BFA in painting and printmaking from West Virginia University. Through the years she also worked in cartography, courtroom art, caricatures, and stained glass. In Wilmington, she took up ceramic sculpture and developed her own style, with her work ending up around the country and the world. Later, her focus switched back to painting, and she did many portraits of people, pets, and landscapes - she loved working plein-aire, and still lifes. She often incorporated her love of nature and her faith into her artwork.

Mary was a dedicated member of St. Therese Catholic Church of Mooresville, NC.

Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her loving husband of 43 years, Thomas Flynn Crow; daughter, Madeline McClelland Crow Packard (Sam); sisters, Michelle Lilly, Melissa Shreves Shahnam (Mehrdad); brother, Donald Shreves (Tracie Reihm); brother-in-law, John Crow (Fran); sister-in-law, Carol Casto (Tom); aunt, Marcie Smith; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday July 26, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, NC.

The family will receive friends on Friday July 25, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
