Dawson Mary Sue Dawson, 86, lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at her home in Saltville. She was the daughter of the late Rob and Minnie Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy K. Dawson, and a sister, Maxine Dawson Helton. She attended many churches but made her home at Midway Chapel. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. She is survived by two sisters, Pauline Plumb of Saltville and Katie Price of Emory; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers Dreama Minton, Revonda Surber and Angie Day. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Midway Chapel Church with the Rev. Kenny Gilbert officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elizabeth Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at drhendersonfuneralhome.com D.R.
