Mary Joann Deemer of Inverness, Florida passed away February 27, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Ernest Lyon and Frances Rentsch Lyon. She married Glenn Deemer in 1954 and celebrated 41 years together. They moved to Bradenton, Florida
in 1957 and raised their 3 children. Mary worked many different jobs but really enjoyed the many years she worked in the cafeteria (lunchroom) at Harllee Middle School. Mary and Glenn loved to travel with their family. They took many trips and cruises with Mary’s mom, 3
children and often with nephews and nieces. Mary loved babies from the time she was young and if she had one on her hip or lap she was at her
happiest. Her family was her “everything”. She took care of her father in law, brother in law, grandmother and mother for many years. Mary absolutely loved and cared for everyone, always first to help or lend a helping hand. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, father Ernest Lyon, Mother Frances Crompton, brother Richard Lyon and son James Deemer. Left to Cherish her memory are her daughters, Betty Deemer, Inverness, Fl; Gabrielle Robinson (Cliff) Galion, Ohio; Amy Kopso Jacksonville, FL; Daughter in Law Patricia Deemer, Ft Worth TX; Sister, Frances
Burger Inverness, FL; Sister in law, Delores Lyon, Bradenton, FL. Mary left behind 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends especially Deann Hamilton Bradenton, FL and Maxine and Stan Herdman Ellijay, GA.

She was the best friend a friend could ever have. Always such a giving person, put others before herself. I will always laugh at the memories of Mary and I getting in trouble at Harlee Middle School where we worked side by side for fifteen years, making rolls ,cakes, cookies. The fun we had anytime we got together. Our friendship lasted for 43 years. Your always in my heart Mary, Love You

Cindy and I are so sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathies to Betty Amy, Gabrielle and the entire extended family. I will forever cherish the time I got to spend with the Deemer family in my teenage years. When Jim went into the Air Force I would come to the Deemers house every afternoon in between classes at a nearby college. Mary, Frances and I would watch soap operas together until it was time for my next class. I certainly missed my friend Jim as he entered the Air Force but my time with Mary and "Grandma" every afternoon made that time easier. God Bless you Mary and may you forever rest in peace.

My Meme (Mary) was the best grandma anyone could ask for. She was my "mom" and I'll keep her voice, laugh, and smile with me forever. She helped me become the person I am today and will miss her every single day, one day I'll see her again.
Until then, I'll miss you my meme
