Mary Desrochers Obituary

NEW BEDFORD — Mary L. Desrochers, age 72 years, passed away peacefully Monday, October 26th at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family. Mary was the widow of Joseph R. Desrochers.

She is survived by her loving children, Mark Perry, Barbara Perry and Beth Perry, all of New Bedford. Loved grandmother of Keith Bandara, Megan Perry, David Patrick, Michael Patrick, Jamie Perry and Chad Viera; great-grandmother of Madison Dawn. Her daughter-in-law and caregiver, Wendy Tolley of New Bedford. Mary was the sister of Leon Garrant Jr., of New Hampshire, Donald Garrant of Acushnet and the late Thomas Garrant. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mary was the daughter of the late Leon and Marion (Denault) Garrant. Mary was a life long resident of this area, and a communicant of St. George Church, Westport.

Mary worked for the City of New Bedford School Department as a cafeteria supervisor at the high school until her retirement. She was a member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks.

Mrs. Desrochers funeral will be Friday at Perry Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M.

My heart and prayers go out to the Mary Lous family. Our familys go back a Long ways back. Mary and her first husband. Tony Perry use to treat my their brother, They would include me in trips to car shows and motorcyle rides I was not not even a teenager good memories.I had not seen Mary for a long time,But Her name came up in family conversations. With My sister Lorraine Souza. Mary will be missed by many. Mary Lo has gone to a better place. Rest in peace. God speed. Ken Souza.
