Mary Knockwood Dettmer

CHESNEE, SC-- Mrs. Mary Knockwood Dettmer, age 81, of 889 Reynolds Road, Chesnee, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Magnolia Place in Spartanburg. Mrs. Dettmer was the widow of John William Dettmer and the daughter of the late Joseph Knockwood and Margaret Mackenzie. She was a member of St. George Episcopal Church of New York City, NY.Surviving her are John Albert Sapier, Sr. and wife Helen of Chesnee; daughter, Lorraine Sapier Downs and husband Scott of Plano, TX; brother, Isaac "Ike" Knockwood, Roderick "Roddy" Knockwood of Nova Scotia, Canada; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Joseph Louis Frederick Sapier, David Allen Sapier, John Roger Dettmer; brothers, Joseph Albert Knockwood, Henry Knockwood; sisters, Hazel K. Marble, Bridgett Ann K.
