Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother
UTICA - Mary R. DiPerna, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born on March 5, 1926, in Utica, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Clerrico) Coriale. Mary attended Utica schools. On August 23, 1958, she married Enrico DiPerna in Blessed Sacrament Church, a blessed union of 60 years.
Mary was a long time member of the choir of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church which she enjoyed a great deal.
Surviving Mary besides her beloved husband, Enrico, are her children, Donna (Bill Sutton) Pletl, Deerfield, and Carla (Pierre) Rochon, Utica; grandchildren, Christa (Mark) Bostwick, Alyssa Pletl, Marc (Rachael) Pletl, Jeremy Rivera, Tyler Sutton, Samantha Rochon, Trevor Pletl, Leah Sutton and Jayden Rivera; great-grandchildren, Serena, Mark and Haylee Bostwick; sister, Theresa Coriale; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant son, Carmen DiPerna, five sisters, two brothers and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4-6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Mary's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The DiPerna family would like to thank her home health aide, Emma Penn, for the care and compassion shown to Mary. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Abin Pachikara, Mary's primary care physician, who always went above and beyond when it came to her care and Dr. Ghassan Koussa and PCU staff of Faxton-St. Luke's for their care and concern.
