Mary Ellen Zepf

TROY - Mary Ellen Zepf, 74, of Lansingburgh passed quietly after a long illness at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born and raised in Troy, she was the daughter of the late David and Helen Flynn Gregg and the devoted wife of the late Joseph N. Zepf. She was raised by her maternal aunt, Mary Agnes Flynn.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of St. Augustine's School and Catholic Central High School and retired in 1995 after 39 years with the Finance Department for the City of Troy. She enjoyed camping in the Adirondack Mountains, reading and enjoyed her Birthday Club dinners with her friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn A. Massey (Kevin) of Waterford; her brother, Frank J. Gregg (Shirley) of Schroon Lake and Florida; her sister, Sister Nancy Gregg CSJ of Latham; her nephew, Jimmy Gregg and his wife, Kate, and their children, Michael and Anne of Troy; her brother-in-law, Edward Zepf of Troy; and many close friends.
Mary Ellen was predeceased by her brothers, J. Lawrence Gregg and David Gregg.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, from St. Augustine's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Troy.
At her request, there will be no calling hours.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Benton, Dr. Ira Zakon and Dr. Regina Resta and their entire staff and the staff at Samaritan Hospital for their love, compassion and care they gave Mary Ellen over the last several years.
