Mary Evans Obituary
Born on October 26, 1940, in Baytown, Texas, Mary was the daughter of Elizabeth Helpert and Joseph Augustus Kubica. She was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Rand B. Evans and a beloved mother, sister, educator, and friend.
A graduate of Southwest Texas State College, Mary dedicated her career to inspiring young minds through education. Her gentle strength, enduring patience, and deep compassion left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues.
Her children survive Mary-Victoria Evans of Arlington, Virginia; Karl Evans of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Veronica Evans of Raleigh, North Carolina-as well as siblings Robert, Ben, Joseph, Raymond, Johnny, and Trudy Meigs. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, curiosity, and love of puzzles, mysteries, and documentaries.
Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and quiet wisdom-a life that enriched many and will be dearly missed.
