Mary Ellen

Haw (MEO), Orange City, Fla.,

died April 2, 2008, at John Knox

Village, where she had resided for

ten years. She was born Septem­

ber 19, 1920, in Chester, Pa., and

lived in Edina, Minn., for 35 years

where she worked as a nurse and

raised a family. In 1983, she

moved to Stuart, Fla., where she

and her husband, Nathan, enjoyed

retirement together. She was a

graduate of Bucknell University,

and Yale School of Nursing. Her

career as a nurse and nurse edu­

cator kept her busy for more than

three decades. Positions she held

included public health nurse in

South Dakota and Minnesota for

10 years, Mount Olivet Rolling

Acres School and Muriel Hum­

phrey Residences for the develop­

mentally challenged, and Planned

Parenthood Clinic in Minneapolis,

Minn. Survivors include a daugh­

ter, Nancy Cleeremans and her

husband, Bruce; as well as two

grandchildren, Andrew and Caro­

lyn, all living in California. A me­

morial service was held April 5 at

John Knox Village with the Rev.

Drew Parsons officiating. In lieu of

gifts, she wished donations be

made to Sloane-Kettering Cancer

Research, in New York City, N.Y.,

or the Jonathon Jacques Chil­

dren's Cancer Center in Long

Beach, Calif.
