MARY FRANCES STONE Obituary
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Mary Stone was born June 25, 1921 in Limestone County to Vance Elmore and Evie May McBay Elmore; she was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens for 76 years, where she was a member of the WMU. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Eugene Stone, one son Gilbert Newby, two grandsons Benjamin Newby, and Michael Brandon Newby. Three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her three sons Paul Newby and wife June of Decatur, AL; Billy Wayne Newby of Huntsville, AL; Mike Newby and wife Brenda of Athens, AL; three daughters Mary Jean Duncan of Harvest, AL; Claudine Newby Dean of Athens, AL; and Carolyn Barley and husband Billy Ray of Jacksonville, FL; one stepson Randy Stone of Hartselle, AL; fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Victor Duncan, Tim Dean, Brett Barley, Josh Newby, Chris Newby, and Keith Newby.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Fain, Ken Newby, Rodney Newby, David Shelton, and R.B. Newby.
