DANIEL GEORGE JUNK

DANIEL GEORGE JUNK, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, in Escondido, Calif. Born June 20, 1947, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late George Irving (dec. Jan. 13, 2017) and D. Maxine Junk (dec. in 2007). Dan was a tool and die maker all his life. He began working for Adroit and then Guide Engineering. He began his own business, Accur-C Tool Corp. in 1990. He also co-owned Tri-state Armored Inc. He served on the executive board of The Salvation Army, and was a member of the Elks club. Dan was loved by many, and he never met a stranger. Whenever someone would ask him how he was, he would consistently reply with great enthusiasm "Wonderful!". He loved the pool and being in the sun. Playing golf and cooking were two of his favorite hobbies. His first love was the Lord Jesus Christ and he was looking forward to his heavenly home. Surviving are his wife, Judith Junk; brother, David (Sue); sons, Jason (Tina) and Matt (Toni); daughter, Jennifer; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Joel) Turner; nine grandchildren, Maria (Armondo) Bustamante, Michael (Micheala) Felger, Emilee Junk, Dylan Junk, Jeremy Slater, Tyler Slater, Luke Turner, Katrina Turner, and Brooke Turner; four great-grandchildren with one on the way, two nephews, two cousins; and his beloved African Grey parrot, Bubba. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Timothy Stults. A Celebration of Life service is 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Sonrise Church, 10125 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804). The family wishes to thank all the caregivers, neighbors, friends and family who helped care for him the last few weeks of his life.
