Mary Margaret Regan Gilbert

Died peacefully in her sleep on December 8, 2015. Mary was born May 20, 1922 in Long Beach, California, the seventh of eight children to Mary Stanton Regan and Joseph Mathias Regan. Orville, her loving husband of 44 years, preceded her in death, as did her daughter, Margaret Mary "Peggy" Brookes. Mary had a great love for her family and was always there for them. She loved to travel, visit with family, entertain friends and until she was unable to do so, played weekly Bridge games. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. John Vianney Church in Rancho Cordova. Mary is survived by seven of her eight children, Cathy Kudra and husband Ron, Joan Donohue and husband Mike, Thomas Gilbert and wife Linda, Barbara Chatman, Jeanette Lawson and husband Ken, Bill Gilbert, Joe Gilbert and wife Heidi; twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. John Vianney Church, 10497 Coloma Rd., Rancho Cordova. Viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 and funeral Mass at 10:00. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Avenue, Sacramento.
