Mary Gish Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 16, 2022.

Mary Ann Gish, age 81 of Houston, passed away on November 14, 2022. Mary Ann was born May 11, 1941 in Giddings, Texas to Albert and Martha Beisert.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack Gish, sister, Betty and two brothers, Edmund and Hilbert.

Mary Ann is survived by her sons, Johnny Gish, Jay Gish and his wife, Kathy and daughter, Jackie Mahalec and husband, Kenny,  brother, Henry Beisert and sister, Lucille Leitko.  Grandchildren Jodie Downs, Julie Howe, Chad Oates, Caitlyn Serrano, Angela Smith, Jason Mahalec, Jacob Gish, Jake Mahalec, Jordan Gish, Josh Gish and 8 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary Ann was the matriarch and glue that held our family together.  Her family came first in her life with her heart of gold and caring for all she knew.  She stood her ground and gave her opinion when asked or not.  The toughest 90 pounds you would ever know.  Mary Ann enjoyed cooking; especially at holidays and she loved going gambling with family.   Enjoyed the beach and water sports in her younger years, dancing and an avid reader; a regular patron at the local library.  But more than anything, she loved her family and was so proud of each one.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 17th from 5 to 7pm at Klein funeral home in Tomball.  Graveside services on Friday, November 18th at 11am at Klein Memorial Park in Pinehurst.

We met Mary Ann at Jodie and Jared’s wedding two years ago. It was evident that she was the center of the family and was full of spunk! We pray comfort for you, her family, and condolences for your loss.

My heart feels for all
If you. I have grown up knowing Mary Ann and the family and consider you my own. She was the toughest tiniest ball
Of fire for sure! Her strength her resilience and her determination to keep fighting.. that was her. She loved fiercely but not without toughness behind it. I know she is in a beautiful place Free of pain and pray for healing and strength for y’all in the days to come. She would want you to turn up that music and dance for her now ❤ Love y’all very much!
