Mary Alice Hagge, age 62, of Waseca passed away at her home on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer.Born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on November 9, 1946, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Emily (White) Miller. At 18 months of age, she was featured in a fawn/child picture published nationally in newspapers and magazines. She graduated from Waseca High School, the University of Minnesota, and Mankato Commercial College.She worked for Birds Eye, EF Johnson Co. and Brown Printing, all in Waseca. In 1968, she married George Hagge at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca and began her "domestic engineer" career with the birth of sons Christopher, Jeffrey, and Patrick.Mary Alice enjoyed music and sang for many years in her church choir and the Waseca Chorale. She was confirmed at Faith United Methodist Church and was active in her church circle, Bazaar Bunch, craft group, and numerous church committees.Mary Alice enjoyed collecting Snoopy memorabilia, camping with her family, visiting friends, and vacationing at her family cottage in Big Lake, MN. Her biggest accomplishment was putting up with her husband of 41 years.She is survived by her husband, George of Waseca; three sons, Chris (Melanie) of Robbinsdale, Jeff of Rochester, Pat (Heather) of Mankato; two grandchildren (the bright spot in her eye!), Andrew and Simon of Robbinsdale; her mother, Emily Miller of Waseca; brothers, Philip (Pamela) Miller of Cheyenne, WY, Mark Miller of Plymouth, and Tom (Jane) Miller of Minneapolis. Also surviving are five nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth.Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 4-7 PM and continue on Monday, one hour before services at the church.Funeral services will be held Monday, May 25, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca with Rev. Neil Westby officiating. Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
