Mary H. Hamilton

Mary Genevieve Huffard Hamilton, 101, of Wytheville died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel. She was a lifelong resident of Wythe County and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Catherine Peck Huffard. Survivors include two nieces and their husbands, Ellen Bowman and Hampton Lazenby of Bluefield, Rebecca Bowman and J.R. Vance of Max Meadows; two great-nephews, Marc Bowman Lazenby and Christopher Charles Peeples; two great-nieces, Christy Lazenby Naud and Laurie Peeples Hackler; three great-great-nieces; one great-great-nephew; and many loving friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. (service time) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
