Cathy M. Mayhew

Cathy, a resident of Adamsville, AL, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 years old. Cathy graduated from Gardendale High School. She enrolled in college in her forties to pursue her passion in geriatric care and she fulfilled her dream when she became a hospice nurse until she became too ill to care for her patients. Cathy is preceded in death by her father, James W. Mayfield. Cathy is survived by her mother, Nancy Mayfield and Nancy's husband, Jim Burks; her son Michael Mayhew (Brittnie); her daughter, Allyson Mayhew (fianc, John Castleberry); a sister, Barbara "Jan" Ferguson (Jeff); a granddaughter, Joanna Mayhew; special friends, Margaret "Marv" Moody, Joan Jacks, and Elouise Duckworth, several other family members and a host of friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
