MISHAWAKA - Roland L. Eckmayr, 94, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Roland, a native of Wisconsin, was married to Lois Detert of Mishawaka, Indiana; she preceded him in death on July 2, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Lady Muriell Carter and son-in-law, Sir Edward Charles Carter of Nassau, Bahamas; grandsons, Edward and Mark Carter and wives, Ludy and Denise of the Bahamas; great-grandchildren, Taylor Adams and husband Blair, Paige, Chase, Tess, and Cayman Carter; a great-great-grandson, Austin Adams; nieces, Margaret Gregory and family of Bend, Oregon, Marlene Finnigan and husband Rick and family of Goshen, Indiana, Larry Degraff and wife Micky and family of Dallas, Texas; his only sister, Lorraine Winchel of Sparta, Wisconsin and her family, the Millers, the Hemmersbachs, the Johnsons, a host of friends, and all those special people and staff at “The Waterford”. Having an insatiable curiosity and being an avid reader, he loved being an engineer, always searching for new technology. He was a very special person and we are all fortunate to have had him in our lives. As per his request, there will be no memorial service.

His sister Lorraine Eckmayr Winchel, nieces Julie Miller (Ronald), Marie (Norman) Hemmersbach, Madonna (Butch)Johnson, and their family 9 grand nieces and nephews, 16 great grand nieces and nephews. We had a memorial service for Roland April 21, 2018.

Sorry to hear of Roland's passing, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope. In the days to come may you find comfort in that hope.
