Mary Hunley Obituary
Family and friends may visit from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m. Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Massengill of North Monroe Street Church of God will officiate. Burial arrangements at Roselawn Memorial Park will be private.
Born August 30, 1928 in Monroe, MI, Mary was the daughter of John and Alline (Bosvik) Nagy. On February 28th 1945, Mary married the love of her life, Carl Hunley.
Mary was a homemaker for most of her life. In her spare time, she loved to garden, crochet, and travel. She was a wonderful mother whom loved being there for her kids.
Mary is survived by three sons, Clarence Hunley of Wilmington, NC, Charles (Sandy) Hunley of Livonia, MI, and John (Terrie) Hunley of Monroe, MI; a daughter, Betty Hunley of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, John Nagy of Carson, CA and Charles (Sue) Nagy of Chilahowie, VA; and two sisters, Joann (Edward) Hester of Yuma, AZ and Lucille (Clarence) Peters of Pennington Gap, VA. Mary also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Carl E. Hunley, Jr. and Duane Hunley; four sisters, Katherine Thomas, Elizabeth Turner, Margaret Turner, and Irene Woods and a great-grandson, Kevin Piggiet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
