Dale Daniels Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2014.
DANIELS, BUTCH

Dale Ray Daniels was born April 19, 1958 in Florence, Colorado to Gwendolyn and William Daniels and grew up there with his five siblings. After graduating from high school, he worked for a short time at a convenience store in Penrose, Colorado. Shortly after that, he was hired on at the Rio Grande Rail Road in 1977 in the track department. He was soon after, promoted to Work Equipment Operator and worked at various locations on the Rio Grande system. Butch was highly recognized for his skill operating equipment. He then took a job as a Safety Inspector for Work Equipment, then in 1990 was promoted to Work Equipment Supervisor and moved by the company to Texas. In 1993 he became a Regional Work Equipment Manager. In 1997 Butch returned to Colorado as a Shop Manager and held several management positions. Later, he returned to operating equipment, the arena where he truly shined and was appreciated for his work. He remained working in the Denver area until his retirement in 2013.

Butch enjoyed the simple life. When he wasn't working, he loved spending time with his horses and enjoyed competing in team penning. On September 29, 2014 in Louisville, Colorado, Butch lost his battle with Cancer that he courageously fought for nine years. He will be missed by his wife, Tammy; step-daughter, Tessa Trevithick; step-son, Robbie (Leah) Daniels and their four children; mother, Gwen; three brothers: Duane, Donald and David; his sisters: Danita (Troy Harper) Lopez and Diann(Mike) Browning; numerous nieces and nephews; and his MANY close friends.

A celebration of Butch's life will take place at a memorial service on Saturday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Avenue in Denver. An inurnment will take place Monday, October 6 at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado, where he will be laid to rest next to his father.
