Mary L. Jacobs

Mary L. Jacobs, 80, of Wildwood Park Drive and formerly of Danielson and Pomfret died Saturday, (January 11, 2003) at home after a long illness. She was born in Charleston, S.C. on May 17, 1922, the daughter of the late Antoine and Lucille (Poujours) Riols. She was the beloved wife of the late Major Walter Frederick Jacobs, Jr. USMC, Ret who died in l982. Mrs. Jacobs was an avid collector of antique paper weights, and along with her husband enjoyed sailing and bridge. She was the treasured mother of Laurel Anne and Frank Garon of Clinton and Leslie Taylor of Moosup; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Walter F. Jacobs III and her daughter Winifred A. Jacobs. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday 1 p.m. in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson. Burial will be private.
