Mary Jane Curran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2025.
Mary Jane (Janie) Curran, 74, of Maryland Heights, MO, passed away on July 7, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife and proud mother and grandmother.

She was born on September 18, 1950, in St. Louis, MO to the late Jaqueline (Cunningham) Zinn and the late Leroy Zinn. She married Patrick Curran on October 22, 1978, in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed the simple things in life: being with her family, cuddling her dogs and grand-dogs, and family vacations on the beach.

Jane spent her younger years growing up in Webster Groves, MO hanging out with all the firehouse families. Like every teenager, she enjoyed summers in Webster going to the pool, hanging out at Velvet Freeze, and meeting friends in Old Orchard. Once she had children, she was an active parent and volunteer at St. Blaise Catholic Church and Grade School. She was a wonderful Girl Scout leader, always organizing crafts and camp activities. She enjoyed golfing with family. In her later years, she enjoyed collaborating with friends and co-workers in the food brokerage business at Crossmark, Inc. and Advantage Solutions. As a grandmother, she enjoyed having her grandkids sleep over including baking cookies, painting rocks, playing games, making big breakfasts, and spoiling them with shopping trips for toys and clothes. Jane loved Christmas time and many of the family's favorite memories are those she created in the Christmas season. Over the course of her life, she also created many family memories on the beach, including Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Outer Banks, NC, and Portland, ME.

Jane was preceded in death by her mother Jaqueline (Cunningham) Zinn, father Leroy Zinn, brother Michael Zinn, and Brother-in-Law Mike Curran. She is survived by Patrick, her husband of 46 years, daughter Shannon (Mike) Favazza, son Tim (Jessica) Curran, and grandkids Jack Favazza, Ben Favazza, Lucy Favazza, Allie Curran, and Katie Curran. She also leaves behind her brother Bob (Mary Jo) Zinn, sister Barb (John) Robinson, sister-in-law Jane Curran, brother-in-law Jay (Carol) Curran, brother-in-law Kevin (Laura) Curran, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Jane will be held on July 26, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 3130 Parkwood Lane, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Visitation is at 9:00am with a Mass at 10:00am and luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Backstoppers or Humane Society of Missouri. The family also asks you to remember Jane by taking a moment to enjoy time with your family.

So sad to hear this. Paul and I remember playing moonlight madness bowling on Saturday nights. We would share a babysitter with Pat and Jane. Jane was our son´s babysitter and she would take Tim and Steve to the bowling alley on Tuesdays. The boys would go into the nursery and Jane was on a bowling team. Many wonderful memories. Hope Jane and Steve are meeting in Heaven.
