Mary Martha Jimenez

Mary Martha Jimenez, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. Born to Gervacio and Alfonsa Jimenez on January 19, 1945, Mary dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for others, a calling she fulfilled by opening her home for over 45 years to care for children. Her home was not just a place of business but a haven of love and laughter, impacting countless lives with her generosity and warmth.

Mary was a devout Catholic, faithful in her religious practices, always finding solace in her rosary and the pages of her bible. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.

Her home was always bustling with activity, filled with the aromas of her cooking and the sounds of family gatherings. Mary cherished her time with her grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, and she found joy in her hobbies which included reading, watching crime shows, playing Sudoku puzzles, and crocheting.

Mary was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Montoya and her husband Jeff, and Patricia Jimenez and her husband Brandon; grandchildren Jennifer Montoya, Marissa Lopez and her husband Adam, Adrianna Tapia, Christopher Griego and his wife Clarissa, Cassandra Montoya, Deandra Tapia, Brandy Tapia, Mia Tapia, Angel Tapia, Lindsay Tambascio, and Deni Gonzales and her husband Casey; great-grandchildren Jaslynn, Kaylee, Leila, Aaden, Owen, Ryan, Alaiyah, Amelia, Azirah, Selena, Santiago, Alicia, Myles, Bryanna, Olivia, RJ, Ariella, Delilah, James, Sophia, Chace and Isabella. Mary was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Tapia and Richard Tapia.

A rosary and mass in honor of Mary's life will be held at 10:00 AM on July 16, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 100 S Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery, 499 N Guadalupe St. A reception will take place at the American Legion, 1601 Berry Ave. Mary's life was a testament to her faith, love, and the joy she found in caring for others, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
