Mary Kay Kilgore Obituary
Born on March 10, 1948, in Ravenna, Ohio, Mary was the eldest of seven children born to Richard and Betty Foote. She grew up in a lively household in Kent, that laid the foundation for her vibrant and outgoing spirit. Mary attended St. Patrick's and Kent Roosevelt High School before continuing her education at Kent State University.
Mary's professional life reflected her deep love for animals. She worked in several veterinarian offices over the years and eventually channeled her passion into entrepreneurship by founding her own business, Pets, Pools and Plants.
An accomplished horsewoman, Mary was proficient in both western and English riding styles. She showed horses at the Quarter Horse Congress and other national and state venues. Her connection with animals extended beyond horses; she had a special affection for Bernese Mountain Dogs. These beloved companions were not only part of her family but also served as therapy dogs that she brought to schools and nursing homes, spreading joy and comfort wherever they went.
Mary's zest for life was unmistakable. She was known for her beautiful smile, gregarious nature and fun-loving personality. She had many dear friends across the country. Music and dancing brought her great happiness with a genuine love for George Strait and his song Amarillo by Morning.
Mary is survived by her 6 siblings: Fred Foote (Carol) ; Beth Foote (Thor) ; Richard Foote (Diane) ; Barbara Foote Springer (Dan) ; Jim Foote ; Carol Foote (Brian) , ex-husbands James Mazzochi and Peter Kilgore. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and spirited presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Betty Foote.
Mary Kay Kilgore's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched-with kindness, laughter, and an enduring love for animals. Memorial contributions may be made to horses4heroes.org, portageapl.org, or Alzheimer's Association donorservices.alz.org. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Happy Trails.

I truly miss my friend Mary Kay, walking with our dogs every day here in Las Vegas, her and I loved to walk, and our love for dogs made us friends. May she rest in peace and know her life was filled with goodness and passion for what she loved.
