Mary Loft

After a short illness, Mary passed away surrounded by her family at the Maples Nursing Home, Tavistock. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert, in June, 2011. Mary is survived by her children Patricia Bourque (Louis), Tom Loft (Mary), Albert W. Loft (Faith), Arthur Loft (Carole), Bill Loft, MaryAnn Loft-DeMarco (Joe). Grandmother of Niki Dal Bello, Michelle Loft, Dana Wipperman, Tom Loft Jr., Josh Loft, Jonathan Loft, Tiffany Delsaut, Paul Loscher, Ainslie Loft, Eric Loft, Emily Loft, Elaine Loft, Eden DeMarco, Avery DeMarco, Andrea DeMarco, Jessica DeMarco and her many cherished great-grandchildren. Albert and Mary Loft owned and operated Loft's Groceteria on McKay Street in Galt for many years. Family and religion were very important to Mary. She served as a CWL member at St. Ambrose Church. She loved to sew and garden. Mary and Albert retired to Southampton where they enjoyed many years playing cards, walking to Port Elgin, viewing the sunsets, and visiting the beaches. She found time to volunteer at the local hospital and church. Albert and Mary returned to Waterloo in 2000, to be with their family. There was never a dull moment with "The girl who lived on the Hill." The plaque above her bed which stated: "Be still and know that I am God" embraced her daily life. Visitation will on Sunday, March 25th at T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St., Cambridge (Galt). Hours of visitation will be from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass to be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 210 South St., Cambridge (Galt) on Monday, March 26th at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery in Cambridge (Preston).
