Mary A. Lopez August 14, 1928 - May 17, 2007 Our beautiful beloved mother, Mary A. Lopez has gone home with our heavenly Father, Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2007, at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by our father, Jesse Lopez; her parents, Mike and Susie M. (Chita) Arredondo; and her two brothers, Johnnie Lopez and Mike Arredondo, Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Julie L. Sahara (Fred) of Los Angeles, Ca., Stella Martinez, Irene Rodriguez (Joe) of Austin; and son, Jesse Lopez, Jr. (Colleen) of Kenosha, WI. Mary worked for the Texas Insurance Advisory Association for twenty years as a Receptionist. After her retirement she enjoyed all her grandchildren, cooking, traveling, shopping and going to Coushatta with her sister-in-law, Sandy, and special friends. Grandma Mary, will truly be missed by all who knew her, especially her joyful laughter and warm smile. She is also survived by six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Mary's kindness and generosity touched many lives. Her love, devotion to family will greatly be missed. Mary's spirit and love for life will remain with us always. "Absent in body, but present in spirit." I Corinthians 5:3. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seton Hospital (3rd floor) and Hospice Austin - Shelly Baker, RN (Case Manager). Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2007, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
