Mary Louise DiGiorgi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 16, 2024.
Mary Louise (Harvey) DiGiorgi passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, in Brentwood, Tennessee, at the age of 68. Her passing was comfortable and in the presence of those she loved and who loved her.

Mary Louise was born on July 2, 1955 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Hopewell High School, she proceeded to Jameson School of Nursing to pursue her calling of caring for those in need.

Her career began in the prestigious Reverse Isolation Ward of Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City and spanned over 40 years of nursing, specializing in home health and hospice care. To her patients she was caregiver, guardian, and advocate.

Mary Louise was a caring, enthusiastic, funny person known for her unwavering support for family and friends. Her infectious smile and comforting words made her the go-to person for sharing both good and bad news. She had a knack for always having the right thing to say, and a dessert ready for any occasion (one plate "counted" and one just for you). Her signature "straight-mouth-face", however, was a signal for you to get your act together.

Mary Louise's hobbies included gardening, baking, sewing, doing puzzles, crafting, sneaking chocolate, window shopping, reading romance novels, watching soap operas and Sunday afternoon movies, sneaking more chocolate, and enjoying an ice-cold fountain Coke. She was also known for her impromptu kitchen dancing, catalog browsing, and feeding the birds-and begrudgingly, the squirrels.

She is survived by her loving husband Bruno, and her children Ryan and Ashley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a children's charity of your choice in her honor. She would like that.

Mary Louise's kindness, humor, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
