Mary M. Lux

Mary M. (Koval) Lux, 82, of Kent, passed away peacefully January 28 at Bath Manor in Bath, Ohio. She was born July 21, 1936 in Akron to Steve and Rose Koval. Mary grew up in west Akron and attended St. Vincent Grade School and graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1954. She attended Case Western Reserve University. In her professional career she was a teacher, a teacher's aide at St. Patrick School, a bank teller at Huntington National Bank, and a successful realtor for 21 years at Geneva Chervenic Realty, Smythe Kramer Realty and Howard Hannah Realty. She was an active member of St. Patrick Parish for over 54 years and served as a Eucharistic Minister and Co-President of the Home and School Association. She was a Board Member for the MRDD of Portage County and a long- term member of the Akron Board of Realtors.

Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leo. She is also survived by children, Terri (Don) Dressel of St. Charles, Ill., Deb (Ernie) Rutzky of Kent, David (Michele) Lux of Akron and Maureen (Rick) Huscroft of Kent; her grandchildren, Kailee and Elise Dressel, Nathan and Emily Rutzky, Caroline and Aaron Lux, Jack, Allison, Jane and Charlie Huscroft, and many other family members.

She was predeceased by her son, Dan; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Bernie Gallagher; brother and sister in-law, Steve and Trudy Koval.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 31 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 E. Main St. in Kent from 4 to 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 1 at St. Patrick Church, 313 N. DePeyster St. in Kent. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
