Mary Manzer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 9, 2025.
Mary Elizabeth "Minnie" Manzer (Fordrung), 67, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Johnsonville, New York. Born on February 20, 1958, in Glens Falls, New York, she lived a life marked by resilience, humor, and deep devotion to those she loved.

A proud graduate of Queensbury High School in the Class of 1977, Mary went on to earn an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Adirondack Community College. She later completed her bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University at Albany, reflecting her lifelong commitment to learning and understanding the world around her.

Mary built a meaningful career with what eventually became Idearc Media. Over the course of ten years there, she was recognized for her dedication and excellence with a company award-an acknowledgment of her hard work and professionalism.

She was deeply devoted to her family. Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Steve Crandall; and by her cherished grandchildren Aiden and Kyleigh Crandall, who brought immense joy to her life. Her loving partner Frank Manzer stood by her side through life's many seasons. Mary shared an unbreakable bond with her sister and best friend Bobbie VanGuilder. She also held a special place in the hearts of several nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Min. Her Uncle Earl and his wife Linda Dean were also important figures in her life.

Mary was predeceased by her mother Christina Fordrung Deno and father Earl Fordrung, as well as by her two brothers George and Adrian Fordrung.

Throughout her life, Mary found joy in both quiet moments and spirited passions. She played basketball during high school and college-a testament to her competitive spirit-and remained an avid sports fan throughout her life. She cheered faithfully for the Miami Dolphins and the New York Mets. A lover of literature, she immersed herself in the works of Nora Roberts, Anne McCaffrey, and Stephen King. Nature brought her peace; she enjoyed bird watching, spending time at the beach, and visiting lighthouses.

Those who knew Mary will remember her as loving and wise-with a sharp wit that could bring laughter even in difficult times. Her strength was unmatched; she faced life's challenges with courage and grace. Though she fought long and hard through illness, she has now found peace.

May Mary's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 04:00 PM at The Galley Bar and Grill located at 2839 US 9 Ballston Spa, NY 12020. Food and soft drinks will be provided and a cash bar will be available.

I'm really going to miss you Min. You were my favorite cousin in New York and I think that's because you were the only one willing to hang out with a snot nosed little kid. Oh the memories I have of summers past will stay with me forever. Say hi to everybody for me. R.I.P. I love you
