Mary Marino

Mary Marino, likely the oldest living person in the state of Michigan, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at 7:19 p.m. at the age of 110. She attributed her longevity to living life to its fullest, a diet full of homemade Italian cuisine, strong faith in Jesus, and a bubbling sense of humor.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. She will lie in state at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church. The church pastor, Rev. Philip Ching, will celebrate Mass of The Resurrection at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
Born November 17, 1906 in Paterson, New Jersey, Mary was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Giuseppina (Sparano) Pacelli. She married Daniel Marino on June 14, 1942 in West Paterson, New Jersey. They enjoyed Sunday outings after church and family gatherings together for over 60 years. He preceded Mary in death on September 21, 2007.
A proud Italian homemaker who loved to cook, Mary enjoyed dancing, family events, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending church every Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church until its recent closing, then joining St. Michael The Archangel Parish.
Mary is survived by two children, Daniel T. (Andrea) Marino and Diane (Ron) Bryant, both of Monroe; eight grandchildren, Tony Marino, Timothy (Christene Grodi) Marino, Nicholas (Penny) Marino, Alisha Mossburg, Natasha (Greg) Stumpmier, Jeffrey (Diana) Bryant, Mark Bryant, and Kelli (James) Rostash; and twelve great-grandchildren.
