Mary Ellen Martich

Mary Ellen Martich (Kahler) passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at the age of 80, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on February 15, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, Mary was a lifelong resident of the state and cherished its beauty and community.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Tom Martich, and their daughters Shelly and Becky Hawkins. She was a proud grandmother to Joseph, Brittney, Derek, and Jacob Hawkins, and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents, George, and Genevieve Kahler and her two sisters and three brothers, as well as her in-laws, Tom, and Joyce Martich and their three sons, all of whom she held dear.

Mary graduated from Adams High School and had her dream career working at a pharmacy in Thornton, Colorado for years until Mary and Tom bought and operated The Silver Wheel Motel in Buena Vista, a venture that brought her joy and fulfillment.

Mary's passion was in various crafts and her crafting knew no bounds, whether it was crocheting, sewing, or just various handmade treasures. Crafting brought warmth and beauty to the lives of those who had the blessing of receiving one of these handmade treasures.

Mary's dedication to her family, and her passion for her hobbies. She will be missed by all who knew who.
