Mary (Maria) Isabel Hernandez Ramirez, 84, was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Maria touched the lives of many people with her contagious smile and huge heart, all the way to the end of her life here on earth. Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life service at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 26, 2022, at Abundant Grace Church located at 1011 N I27 Plainview, with Pastor Joe Barrera officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A Visitation and Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview at 3605 SW Third St., Plainview.

Maria Isabel Hernandez Ramirez was born on November 5, 1937, in Crystal City, Texas to Edna Burrell and Raymundo Hernandez. She married Manuel Ramirez, Sr. on January 13, 1961 in Plainview. She worked numerous housekeeping jobs until she and her husband opened their own business, Ramirez Auto Sales in Plainview in 1978 until their retirement in 2002. Her devotion was to her husband of 52 years and her children & grandchildren.

Maria is survived by two daughters: Frances Barrera & husband Joe of Plainview and Dr. Edna Garcia & husband Dr. Ricardo Garcia of Tulia; two sons: Manuel Ramirez, Jr. & wife Enedina Ramirez of Lubbock and Guadalupe "Wally" Ramirez of Lubbock; eight grandchildren: Jarred Anthony Barrera, Jovanna Alexis Barrera, Aaron Caleb Ramirez and wife Yeslin Ramirez, Ysabela Maria Ramirez, Emily Loraine Ramirez, Ricardo Isaiah Garcia, Anahliese Catarina Ramirez, and Ellymar Solamé Ramirez; one sister: Josie Lopez of San Antonio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her purpose here on earth was to serve others, from the time she dedicated her life to the Lord she volunteered working in the nursery at Primera Iglesia Mexicana Bautista, Plainview. Despite her lack of formal education in reading and writing she managed to teach the little children about Jesus Christ. When she was not in the nursery, she would be in the kitchen helping prepare meals for special occasions. She also enjoyed partnering with First Baptist Church on mission trips to Mexico as an interpreter and cook. Maria was a faithful member of Abundant Grace Church Plainview. She enjoyed volunteering each year with Vacation Bible School; she became a grandmother to many children and young people that would attend church alone. She always made you feel welcomed and important. Maria is most remembered as a servant of Christ; her daily prayer life was especially important to her. She was known as a prayer warrior and people looked to her for prayer. Maria was a blessing to all she came across. She touched many and her legacy of faith will live on through her children and grandchildren.

Frances, Edna, Manuelito and Wally. I want to extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences. I just read the notice and I'm sad. Sad because I wasn't able to spend as much time with her and you guys like we did as youngsters. Tia always always ALWAYS showed nothing but love to me and everyone else for that matter. I'm happy or glad that you all were blessed to have her in your lives for as long as you did. She was truly amazing. I've got nothing but fond, warm and loving memories of Tia. And for that, I'm not sad. I hope you guys are well and this goes without saying but I'll say it anyways, just to give y'all a lil chuckle on my behalf, if there's anything I can do, call me. Really. Big hug to all of you. The sentiments I expressed about Tia earlier, it continues down the line to you guys. I love all of you. I miss all of you and a better group of cousins I dont think has ever been made. Take care but mostly, take care of each other.
Loving and Respectfully Morose....
