FISHKILL - On 7/1/12, Harold Weitz, husband of Susan Weitz for 47 years, passed. Beloved father of Andrew and Adam Weitz, Harold formerly lived in Mahopac. He is also survived by his mother, Lottie Neumann and grandchildren Nichole, Kyra, Erica and Alexander.

Harold was born in Tarrytown, NY on 12/16/1944. An accomplished accountant, he was an avid golfer who also enjoyed exploring different towns via train. However, it will be the deep love he had for his family and many kindnesses he extended to all that he will be remembered for most.

Please join us in a celebration of this wonderful man's life. Funeral arrangements are Thursday, 7/5/12 from 11AM - 12:30 viewing at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY. I met Harold 15 years ago when a freind from work recommended him as a very good accountant. After the first hour of knowing Harold, I knew I was going to like him. We soon became fast friends and enjoyed playing golf together and trading great stories about our day's as young men. I am going to miss my freind Harold very much. All the accolades bestowed upon him are true. He was a loving, caring man that really cared how you were doing. His love of Doo Whoops,Trains and Golf where only surpassed by the love for his family. I'm going to miss you buddy! Rest in Peace.

I first met Harold about thirty years ago when I was in need of a 'good accountant'. Over the years Harold became much more than that to me and my family.
He often invited me to his home to watch championship boxing matches on pay-for-view while he played poker with a few of his many friends.
With his wonderful personality and great sense of humor he made everyone feel special.
Rest in peace my friend in the arms of God, Billy Nicholson

Harry touched the lives of so many people. Every year he served meals to homeless people at Thanksgiving, cutting his own holiday short. He constantly put others first. When he was at Vassar Hospital reaching the end of his journey with cancer..he had meals delivered to all the staff on both shifts - nurses, aides and maintenance crew included-- as a thank you for his care. His kind acts are too numerous to list, but those who knew him always saw his hand extended to help anyone in need.

He was an accomplished accountant who transferred his skills to Adam, his son; and loved golf and trains. However, it is his kindness to everyone he met and love for his family will likely be what he will remembered most vividly for.

It is my hope that we will all celebrate his life and the special, indelible memories he gave all who knew him. His spirit will be with us always.

My heart goes out to his family. Harold was "one of a kind"--but his legacy is his amazing children and grandchildren who carry with them his sense of humor and caring ways. He is alive in them.

Love to you all,
Donna (Ama)
