Mary Relfe Obituary
She is survived by her brother Hubert E. Stewart, her sisters Betty S. Heath and Carolyn Stone, and her granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Mims.
Dr. Relfe was an accomplished businesswoman, having built, co-owned and operated the Downtown Nursing Home, now Capitol Hill Health Care Center in Montgomery, Al. She was a best selling author of many books, including the New York Times bestseller, When Your Money Fails. She began the League of Prayer in 1980, a non-profit, Christian ministry impacting the lives of many people around the world for Jesus Christ. She was a licensed pilot, a certified flight instructor, and a precious grandmother to her Sarah.
Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, AL at
1 PM on Wednesday August 10, 2011, with funeral services to immediately follow at 2 PM. Rev. Larry Burke, Rev. Brian Taylor and Rev. Adrian Carr will officiate. Pall bearers are Adrian Carr, Patrick Heath, Jacob Nummy, Ronnie Nummy, Eldridge Stewart, Matt Stewart, and John Thomas. Interment will be in Camellia Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to League of Prayer, P.O. Box 680310, Prattville, AL 36068.

I was a newly saved woman, April 15, 1980. In May I started receiving Mary's one page newsletter. She was and is such a rich part of my growing in Jesus. Twenty one years ago I married Kevin and we always looked forward to Mary's letter. We requested prayers a number of times and were so grateful to have her on our side. We give to the League with love and prayer and will continue to do so. Heaven's gain and our loss. God Bless You All. Love Always, Kevin and Laura Barber

Dr. Mary Relfe was very well known to me for being the Christian Woman that she was. The vision God had given her about the League of Prayer played a very important part in my life. It was a place I could go to and spend time in God's presence. Her life will always be remembered by many. Shirley Williams
