RICHARDS MARY JANE
75, of Penn Township, Butler, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Born December 16, 1931 at Brown's Farm on Meridian Road, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Amelia (Rape) Bogan. Surviving are her husband, John A. Richards, five brothers Robert Bogan of Saxonburg, Dennis J. Bogan of Butler, William Bogan of Valencia, Regis Bogan of Butler and Edward Bogan of Foley, Alabama, one sister Rita Eckert of Edgewater, Florida, three stepdaughters Debra Gioia of Elizabeth, PA, Cinthia Wiltsie of Murrysville, PA and Betsy Sandala of Export, PA, one stepson John Richards of Mesa, Arizona. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Bogan. Family and friends of Mary Jane Richards will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 12:00 noon until 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A Memorial Service will then follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel J. Maurer, Pastor of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and the Rev. Peter deVries, Pastor of Old Union Presbyterian Church in Mars, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Cremation Services provided by the Geibel Funeral Home.

Miss Bogan was my 1st grade teacher at Middlesex. I have thought of her often throughout the years. She was a positive influence in my life. My prayers go out to her family.

My daughter, Mandee, always had much respect for Mrs. Richards and has many fond memories of her as her elementary school teacher. She was quite an inspiration to Mandee, which has contributed to her success today. Mary Jane was very special.

To the family: My late husband, Pat Long, was a principal with whom Mary Jane worked. He
frequently remarked, that she was an outstanding teacher. I am guessing that her students remember her in the same way.

Mary Jane was one of my many wonderful cousins and a person of true integrity. I will always remember her bubbly personality and her sincere interest in others. The family reunions at the 228 farm are among my fondest memories. She will, indeed, be missed by the many
who loved her so much.
