Taught my brothers, a handful of cousins and I how to swim 40 years ago. She was the best teacher. Knew how to communicate to children to where swimming was easy. Our family including our work family will miss her dearly. We will include her in our nightly rosaries and ask our Blessed Mother to care for the repose of her soul. May she rest in peace.

I will miss seeing Maureen at church and in our community. She was a shining example of what it is like to be one of God's faithful servants. Her heavenly reunion with her beloved Mike and all of her family must be truly incredible. She was loved and admired and truly led a life well lived.

We loved seeing Maureen at Mass every Sunday in her spot next to the lecturn. She'd turn around to peek at the choir to see Bernie, Patricia and her grand daughters singing and just smile! She was beautiful, gracious, kind and "cheeky" inside and out!
Maureen shared a story with us one day. Being from Guam, she told me about a young man who was a fellow swim instructor with her in the 70's. He was from Guam, and being far from home, she took him under her wing. She invited him to gatherings and he was so grateful that when he moved away, he gifted her with a beautiful Guam flag so she would remember him.
Later, at one of our parties, she brought it with her and said, "You should have it." We have it in a place of honor with many of our Guam artifacts. It's in a curio cabinet in our dining room next to our sliding door. EVERY TIME I see it, I am reminded of home and also, of beautiful, kind, gracious, thoughtful, generous Ms. Maureen. Her memory lives in our hearts and we rejoice that she is with her wonderful husband and family who have gone home before her. We love you, Patricia!
