George Calvin Corcoran

George Calvin Corcoran, 86, passed on August 18, 2010 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. He was born on October 30, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He retired from Lykes Bros. Steamship Company in 1987. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a former president of St. John's Golf Club and a member of the VFW.
Mr. Corcoran is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian Huber Corcoran; his daughter, Karen Corcoran Roberts (Don) ; his three sons, Donald J. Corcoran (Theresa) and David P. Corcoran (Beth) and, Dr. Glen J. Corcoran (Alayne); and, his seven grandchildren: Barry Roberts, Michael Corcoran, Calette Corcoran, Brett Roberts, Stephen Corcoran, Shaw Corcoran, and Katherine Corcoran. He is further survived by his sister, Mary Ann Chastant; and, two brothers, August Corcoran and John Corcoran. In addition to his parents, George Dewey and Hazel Westner Corcoran, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Louis, and George Corcoran, Jr. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Canal Street with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by internment at Pinecrest Cemetery in Covington.
