Mary Sauer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2016.
MARY ANN KETTLER SAUER Your life of sorrow, heartache and loneliness taught us about the love, service, and wisdom which you chose to embrace and give so freely to us and our families. We will miss your spiritual warrior lessons, we will miss your theology tidbits, we will miss your novenas of the blessed lady, Mother Mary, we will miss your boldness in faith and we will miss your toasted sopapillas with honey! We give thanks Jesus Christ Our Lord for the immense blessing you bestowed on us in the life of a mother, grandmother, and friend, MaryAnn Sauer. You will be missed at Friendship on Monday nights, your Friendship Group in Christ, Darla Tilghman, Rosa Mendoza, Rachel Orona, Karina Ornelas Hernandez, Mabel Morales, Cathy O'Reilly, Sheila Salazar, Imelda Loya, Christina Mendoza, and Patricia Garcia. Mary Ann Kettler Sauer, age 82, died Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born May 25, 1934, in Helena, Ark., to Edward and Lillian Kettler. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers John, William, and George. She is survived by her children Chris, Barbara, Michael, Teresa, John and Thomas and also 5 grandchildren. MaryAnn was a devout Catholic and attended St Mary's Catholic Church. She devoted her life to serving others in need on a daily basis. The Youth Alternative Center, Kairos (prison ministry), The Cursillo Movement of the Diocese of San Angelo, TX, Master Gardeners, St Mary's Adoration Chapel, St Mary's School, Catholic Charities just to name a few. We will celebrate her life beginning with a Rosary which will be said on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 7:00pm, St. Mary Catholic Church, in Odessa. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 2:00pm, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, in Odessa, with Father Hilary and Father Woodruff officiating. The family of MaryAnn and MaryAnn's Friendship Group wishes to thank all of the special care angels at Medical Center Hospital who gave special care with the utmost in dignity and compassion. If you would like to honor MaryAnn's life, please donate in her name to or continue to pray for the organizations of Catholic Charities, Ector County Youth Alternative Center and Kairos. We thank all of you who have shown us compassion and lent us a shoulder or uttered a prayer. Forever, we are grateful and will remember you and your family and friends in our prayers. So deeply hurt to hear of Mary Anne's passing. I truly believe we now have another saint to pray for us now, she was such an awesome person.

We are so grateful for the opportunity of having met Mary Ann for the last 3 years. She loved holding my babies and was so good at keeping them happy in her arms when we would visit after Mass. She will be missed.
