Mary Louise Stokes

NEWINGTON, Ga. -- Mary Louise Stokes, age 71, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, in Syl-View Health Care Center, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mrs. Stokes was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fla., where she attended local schools. She moved to Statesboro 20 years ago and currently resided in Newington. Mary was a member of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, bird watching and very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her much beloved dog, Paco. Mary was a kind, loving, caring and giving person, who was also there to lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl E. and Willie Mae Knox Roberts.
Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, James F. Stokes of Newington; sons, Mike Imhoff, and his wife, Tammy, of Beaumont, Texas; Billy Stokes of Brooklet and David Stoke of Augusta; daughters, Cindy Krenson, and her husband, Rex, of Brooklet; and Barbara Bunch, and her husband, Brant, of Statesboro; brothers, David Roberts and his wife, Cecelia, of Orlando, Fla.; and Daryl Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private visitation at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
