Mary Sue Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 8, 2025.
Albertville - Mary Sue (Smith) Wilson, a woman of profound empathy and kindness, passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2025 in Albertville, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson, as well as her parents, Herbert and Thelma (McLean) Smith.

Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. Family was precious to her, and she was very dear to them. She is survived by sons Michael (Kate) Miller-Wilson and Kevin (Shelley Leatherwood) Wilson, grandchildren Eian and Zane Miller-Wilson, and siblings Lynda (Jim) Mills, David (Theresa) Smith, and Dennis (Maralee) Smith.

Born in Port Huron, MI, on January 26, 1952, Mary grew up in a family where faith was deeply important, and this was a lifelong comfort to her. She married George Wilson on September 29, 1973, and they had many wonderful years together before his passing in 2014. Mary moved to Minnesota in 2020 to be closer to grandkids.

Generous, sensitive, and loving, Mary touched the lives of all she knew with gentleness. She loved gardening, cooking, and watching hockey (especially Western Michigan University). Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She saw the world with positively and lived to bring happiness to others, famously saying, "I don't care if you laugh at me, as long as you laugh." That joy and love are her legacy.

Her family will gather with gratitude to celebrate Mary's life in Michigan at a later date. For anyone wishing to share a memory or express how Mary touched their lives, please email [email protected] or send a note to Wilson and Miller-Wilson families, 790 Meander Rd. Hanover, MN 55341.
