Mary Elizabeth Tobin died Sunday, February 12 at her home in Aberdeen. She was 98. Born in Darlington she was the daughter of the late Oliver & Frances Jones and wife of the late James Lawrence Tobin, Sr. A housewife, Mrs. Tobin was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She was a lover of golfing, which she did until her late 80's and of bowling, which she did until her early 90's. She was a kind and loving person who enjoyed her many friendships. She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Tobin of Hagerstown and James L. "Jimi" Tobin, Jr. of Aberdeen; daughter, Roberta A. Demarest of Aberdeen; sister, Hazel Toner of North Carolina, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 16 at 11:00am at St. Joan of Arc. Interment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 257 S. Law St., Aberdeen, MD 21001.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Mary's death. I visited her a couple of years ago and she was still sharp as a tack and still very pretty for a woman of her age. I'm sure Roberta will miss her the most. My condolences.
