Maryanne Jackaway
KINGSTON- Maryanne Jackaway, 67, of Kingston died Monday, July 2, 2018, in the care of hospice at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus.
She was born June 10, 1951; the daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (Merkle) Brooks.
Maryanne attended SUNY New Paltz. She was employed at Nekos-Dedricks pharmacy for over 40 years.
In addition to being a loyal employee, Maryanne was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all she encountered. She will be forever remembered for her kindness, generosity, and ability to tell a great story. Known as "The Link" in her family, she was the keeper of all the family knowledge. She was also an unofficial "mayor" of uptown Kingston, greeting each passerby with a smile, a joke or a dollar. Maryanne made friends wherever she went. She was deeply spiritual and loved to spend time in nature. She was a beautiful person inside and out and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Samuels; her brother, Kevin Brooks and his wife Vicki; and nieces, Kelly (Kyle) Petramale, Jillian, and Kristen Brooks.
Her husband, Dr. Theodore Jackaway, died June 29, 2011.
Funeral arrangements were under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue, www.jvleahyfh.com.
In keeping with Maryanne's wishes, funeral services were private. Burial was held in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Maryanne ,my dear friend from high school. I was so very saddened to hear this news. I have such wonderful memories of our friendship and years together. So many good times. You were one of the kindest people I have ever know. Too soon my friend, too soon! Rest peacefully and watch over all of us who loved you!

I am deeply sadden by the lose of Maj. Grew up with her and known her for a very long time. She was one of the best. God has another angel. The world was a better place with Maj being among us. Hopefully she is looking over all who knew and had the honor of knowing such a kind caring and beautiful soul. I will dearly miss you Maj. But I'm sure Ted has meet you at the gates of heaven. Maryanne was by far one of the sweetest, kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing and speaking with. May she rest in peace. What a beautiful soul. Goon way to soon from this world.
