Mason Sable Robinson (Emma Christine Steele) Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2025.
Mason Robinson, 26, was called home to the Lord on June 26, 2025, while in Sydney, Australia.

Born Emma Christine Steele on February 12, 1999, in Maplewood, Minnesota, she lived a life marked by strength, independence, courage, and deep compassion.

As a child, Emma grew up in Lake Elmo and Stillwater, Minnesota. She was full of laughter, love and endless compassion. Dad nicknamed her Petunia Pot, or Double P for short - she was Dad's beautiful flower. Mom called her Emma Dolly. She loved her cat Doodles and dog Mickey, enjoyed reading, crafts, collecting things (especially small things), climbing trees, fishing, and swimming. She loved spending time with her siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Emma was aspiring to graduate college and travel.

After high school, Emma pursued a degree at the University of Minnesota - Rochester campus. She was exceptionally bright, strong, independent, and most of all, caring.

In 2022, Emma changed her name to Mason Robinson. Mason was studying Health Sciences with a 4.0 GPA and the intent to pursue graduate studies in bioinformatics. They were most recently on a study abroad/internship program in Australia. Mason's academic journey reflected not only determination and intellectual brilliance, but also a profound desire to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others.

Those who knew Emma (Mason) remember her (them) as exceptionally bright, compassionate, inquisitive, open-hearted and caring. She (they) loved and cared for pets Gigi (cat) and Nova (dog). She (they) had a tender heart and formed bonds with people (and pets) that spoke volumes about her (their) gentle spirit, and kindness.

Emma (Mason) is survived by and will be deeply missed by parents Jacquelyn and Dave Meany and Gregory and Monica Steele, brother Benjamin Steele, and sister Peony Steele. Emma (Mason) will also be missed by stepsister Jordan Meany and stepbrother Jacob Meany, and by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends in both Rochester and the Twin Cities, and by the students and faculty whom she (they) touched at UMR. Emma (Mason) is preceded in death by grandmothers Patricia Robinson Olson and Elizabeth Meany.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 25, 2025, at Eaglebrook Church, 2401 Buffalo St, White Bear Lake, MN 55110 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m.

Mason (Emma) you are deeply missed. We are cherishing every moment and memory of you. You will forever be in our hearts. We shared many talks, lots of laughs and a few tears along the way. Your smile always made me smile. I miss you more than my heart can bare at times but I know you are at peace and Mickey was right there to greet you.
