Matthew Bukin Obituary

Published by Dallas Morning News from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7, 2017.
BUKIN II, Matthew "Taylor" Matthew "Taylor" Bukin II born August 7, 1985 died suddenly at home on September 29, 2017 after a long battle with schizophrenia and depression. He fought every day to adapt but ultimately could not bear the weight any longer. Taylor refused to have his life defined by the insidious disease. Foremost Taylor was a devoted Christian and shared his love of Christ with anyone who would hear. He loved his family and many friends who cared deeply for him. After graduating high school, Taylor worked at Barlow's Tackle Shop in Richardson, then trained and certified as a Fireman/EMT working at the Vernon Texas Fire Department for several years. Later he trained as a paramedic, worked at True Street Motorsports in McKinney and was a Certified Archery Instructor teaching and working at Texas Archery Academy. He loved skateboarding, playing and watching sports; and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and teaching others to. He was a member of the Tarrant Christian Bass Club and participated in Celebrate Recovery at Willow Bend Church, Plano. Extremely creative, he recently started his own custom fishing lure company, HK Baits. He was sharp witted and made others laugh, loved practical jokes, helping others, hanging with family and friends, and his dog, Duchess. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and grandson. Preceded in death by his Grandmother Reta Joy Bukin, his Grandfather James White, Grandmothers Donna White and Shirley White. He will be deeply missed and is survived by his parents Matt and Georgia Bukin of Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Misty and Clint Davis of McKinney, niece and nephew Danica and Kolby Davis, sister and brother-in-law Meagan and Barrett Duncan of Dallas, Grandfather Chuck Bukin of Richardson, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life Service to be held Saturday, October 7th 2017, 11:00 am at St Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W. Beltline Road, Richardson with a gathering of friends afterwards at Sonny Bryans on Campbell Road, Richardson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the name of Taylor Bukin may be directed to UT Southwestern Medical Center, P. O. Box 910888, Dallas, TX 75391-0888 or online at www.utsouthwestern.edu/donatenow to support the research of Dr. Carol Tamminga.

Taylor, I miss you and your unfailing faith that you had and that you always tried to give me. No matter what, your faith in God never ceased. I know you're with God now, but it doesn't make it any less difficult to walk this world without the light you gave it. I love you and miss you.

Taylor's light continues to burn in my memory....memories from when he was a precious young boy, about 4 years old, to a a handsome young man. His memory will always burn in my mind and heart.

So sorry for your loss. I still have distinct memories of growing up with Taylor in school and his sense of humor. It definitely seems like he lived life to the fullest. I'll be praying for the family and hope you will sense some sort of peace in the midst of this incredibly difficult time.

One of the most gifted natural athletes I've ever known. He was always smiling. I still think of all the young men in Richardson as kids. He is at Peace now. He will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of the death of your loved one and my deepest condolences are extended to you. Something that's helped me through the death of loved ones is to reflect on 1 Corinthians 15:26.
