Matthew Darren Lemaster, Sr.

MANSFIELD: Matthew Darren Lemaster, Sr., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 6, 2014. He was 45.

Matthew was born June 29, 1969 in Mansfield to parents Jimmie Donald Lemaster and Sharon Marie (Simmons) Cole. He was graduated from Mansfield Sr High with the class of 1987 and on September 11, 1989 he married Melissa McDavitt.

He was employed as a truck driver for Moores Lumber where he worked for over 25 years and received several awards.

In free time, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He would always cheer for the Browns and the Buckeyes and could always make his friends and family laugh.

He was a life-long attendee of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church in Mansfield.

Matthew is survived by his mother Sharon Cole of Mansfield; his son Matthew Darren Lemaster, Jr. (fiancée Danielle Gayheart) of Sandusky; his wife Melissa Lemaster of Mansfield; two sisters Jodie Lemaster and Brenda Ferguson both of Mansfield; very close friends Jeremiah Pence of Mansfield, Garl Adkins of Mansfield, and Jeff Sergeant of Bellville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Lemaster; his father Jimmie Lemaster; his step-father Clayton Cole; a close friend Marvin Thompson (who was like a father to Matt); a cousin Shelly Hemperly; maternal grandparents Dennis &Harriet Simmons; and paternal grandparents Jay & Irene Lemaster.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 in the Finefrock Chapel of Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave in Mansfield. A funeral service honoring his life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church, 1169 Mill Rd in Mansfield, with Pastor Herman Copley and Pastor Earl Tackett officiating.
