Matthew Edward "MJ" Massie

Matthew (MJ) Edward Massie, 20, was born October 17, 2003 and went home to be with Jesus on August 10, 2024. Matt's life began in Ft. Worth where he grew up loving church, music, and sports. Matt attended Ft. Worth schools through 3rd grade before moving to Joshua where he completed the remainder of his education.
Matt enjoyed being a practical joker, but for those that truly knew him, he was a kind and gentle spirit. Matt loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He had a passion for motorcycles, working on cars, and spending time with family and friends, especially his brother and sister. At the time of his death, Matt was attending Hill College working to obtain his associate degree, specializing in welding.
Matt cared and loved big when it came to the people in his life. One of the people he loved most is his brother John. Together, they share an unbreakable bond.

Matt is survived by his parents, Matthew and Melissa Massie; his brother, John; sister, Rhianna; grandmothers, Tammy Baxter and Glenda Steddum; uncles, Jason Massie, Shane Steddum (Shanthi), and Billy Lawrence (Misty); aunt, Amanda Hayes; and cousins, Mia, Morgan, Ava, Angel (Bryan), Toby, Cayenne, Declan, Hannah, Colton, Abigail, and Madilynn, along with numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Massie, Wayne Baxter, Cliff Steddum; grandmothers, Mia Georgevich, Betty Rogers; and great-grandmother, Nelma Byford.

A celebration of life will be held on October 20, 2024, at Cleburne State Park, Group Barracks, at 4:30 PM, with dinner to follow. An entrance fee of $6 per person is required at the gate for entrance. Please RSVP with MJ's father and he can make arrangements to pay the entrance fee. Contact through messenger.
