Matthew Cornell McGhee

It is with a heavy heart that we announce Matt's passing at his home. Matt deeply loved God, was passionate towards serving his country, crazy about his beagles and devoted to his family and treasured friends. He possessed a beautiful soul and shared a special love and light that shone brightly to everyone he encountered. He will be profoundly missed.

Matt continuously strived for excellence. He graduated from Germantown Highschool and later from UT Knoxville. Matt also trained six years in Army Special Forces toward Green Beret status and was a SGT in the 82nd Airborne. Upon multiple injuries he became an honorably discharged veteran.

After serving in the military, Matt tenaciously pursued a Law degree and was approaching his final semester of the University of Memphis School of Law when he was suddenly taken from us. It is of great comfort to know he is with our Heavenly Father.

He leaves behind his mother, LeeAnn from Germantown TN, his father, Rich (Lois) McGhee from Memphis TN, his sister, Mallory (Taylor) Buchannan in Michigan and his Grandparents, Caroline and Cornell Faquin and Bob Olea.

Please join our family a memorial and Celebration of his life July 12,2023 at Harvest Church in the chapel Germantown TN, Visitation 12:00 and Service 1:00 p.m. Please Park on Winchester side under the steeple.
